Leather backpack - Andes M
Natural-grained full-grain leather unlined backpack, handcrafted in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It converts from backpack to satchel-tote by switching the leather straps between positions - no buckles, no hardware changes. The Andes M is the compact version of the Andes L, designed for everyday city carry and short trips.
Interior: Unlined vegetable-tanned leather with a bronze top metal zip, one open internal pocket, and one open external front pocket.
Exterior: One zippered pocket at the back for quick-access items. Unpainted burnished edges. Antique brass-finish hardware throughout.
Materials: Made with vegetable-tanned full grain leather, achieved using natural tannins from quebracho tree bark — without synthetic chemicals or chromium. Unlike chrome-tanned leather, it does not crack or peel with age. Instead, it develops a rich patina over the years of use that makes each bag unique. Natural pigment dyes only. Color and grain may vary slightly between batches — this is inherent to natural leather, not a defect.
Care: Built to last 20+ years with basic care. Clean with a soft dry white cotton cloth. Apply a natural leather conditioner once or twice a year to keep the hide supple.
